Creating a New Project PDF Print E-mail

Introduction

Partners who wish to work together in groups can create an on-line project that can be shared with other partners.  

 

Each project may have the following features, however it is up to the project owner to decide which feature they want to turn-on. They include a:

  • Project Logo
  • Project Description (brief)
  • Project About (long description)
  • Project Wall
  • Project Events Schedule
  • Project Discussion Forum
  • Project Photo Links
  • Project Video Links
  • Project User link
  • Project Shared Files
  • Project Invites

 

How do you Create A Project?

 

Note: Only registered partners who are logged into the Partner web-site can create projects

 

After you have logged in, you can create a new project by clicking the link below.

 

Please note, that if you are creating a project but you don't want it to be visible to the general public until you are ready, please create the project as an Invitation Only project. Then, when you login, you will see the project listed under the  My Projects menu option on the left side of the page but no one else will see the project until you Invite them.

Details about projects

 

Project Title

Choose a title that describes the project in a few words and ideally mention the location (country, region).


Project Logo

Choose a picture or logo that represents the activity you wish to achieve in your project.


Project Description

We encourage you to put a brief description of what the project is trying to accomplish. We reserve the right to adjust this description to be shorter so that it works in our listing, however, we prefer you to create the description and work with you on making more descriptive with fewer words.

 

About Project (long description)

The about tab will become available after you have saved the project. You can click on Edit About and create a more complete description of the project. This is where you should get into detail about the project goals and methods. Anyone who clicks on your project link will see this description.

  

Group Types

When you create a group, you can decide on what kind of group it will be:

  • Open - Everyone can see it and Join at will (recommended)
  • Approval - Everyone can see it, Joiners must be Approved
  • Invitation - Only Partners that have been Invited will be able to Join

Group access

Groups may be accessed by either

  • Public - Public members can Access (recommended)
  • Registered Partners - Members who have logged in can access
  • Users - Only group members have access

Tabs

You can turn on or off any of the above tabs and you can also make them visible or invisible to non-members (Public)

 

Expanding Tabs

If you click on a tab and it is not expanded at first. When you want to add something to the tab, you must first click on the "Expand ..." link.

 

Forum

The forum gives you full access to the forum as Moderator if you create the group. You may share moderating feature with other members or you may turn have an un-moderated group forum.

 

Events

If you have events for you group, you can add group features.

 

Videos

The video tab allows you to create links to videos on youtube and other video sites. Please ensure that your videos are suitable for general use and project related. 

 

Photos

The photo tab allows you to up-load photos for your project. You can also use this for documents like receipts that are scanned into image files.

 

Files

When you wish to have transparency in you project, one way is to up-load files such as scans of your agreements with other organizations and individuals.

 

Invites

You can invite others to your group, either by entering their name as registered in the Partner System, or by entering their e-mail address. In either case, a link will go out to the individual inviting them to join your group. In order to do so, they will first have to create a login to the system.
