What's Happening at Partners?

For those of you who have been following our organization over a long period, here's what's happening. We are getting more and more organizations who have been contacting us to make connections. Here are just a few that have been in touch with us or created profiles over the past several months.

1) The Kenya NGO Council.

The Kenya NGO Council is a framework organization which registers NGO's in Kenya. They have already recommended two other NGO organizations, one of which has a new profile on the web-site. The Northern Nomadic Disabled Association (NONDO) is one of the first to have a Partner Profile in Kenya.

2) Basic Human Needs (India)

Basic Human Needs is a school in India that was created primarily for street children. It now has about 150 children, and thanks to the dedicated efforts of Jessica and her husband who formed the organization when they first started living in India, the organization is now using local teachers to educate the children and to develop other teachers. I had the good fortune of meeting with Jessica on her travels and I am very thankful for individuals like her who spare no expense at helping the needy in trying to develop their own capacities and skills. Partners is working with Basic Human Rights to create closer ties.

3) Barton Hill Jamaican Project

We have been working with one of our Volunteer Partners, to create a formal project to support the efforts of a small village in Jamaica to which Karen has ties. Although the project is still in it's planning phase, we are very happy with the progress being made. If you know people or organizations with an interest in Jamaica who might be able to help this project, please click on Barton Hill Jamaican Project and if you are already logged into the web-site, then click "Join". Then you can invite people into the project by entering their e-mail address.

4) The Green Net Foundation (Uganda)

The Green Net is a Start-up NGO with a wide range of interests. They are currently in the process of registering with the NGO council of Uganda. If there are Partners in Uganda who might like to join this organization to help in it's work, you can click on Green Net Foundation Profile (Uganda)

5) The Ghana Widow's and Women's Support Group

Formerly the Takpo Widows Association project, we are suddenly realizing that there are women in other villages in Ghana that are being impacted by the work of some of the dedicated Partners who have worked with the Widows and the project is continuing to grow. Gifty returned home and gave us an update of what's happening there. So we are recording the information on the Project page
