6   Link   Self-Organized Learning Environment
The SOLE approach was used in India with computers in holes in the wall. Children used the computers without instruction to learn English, computer skills and other subjects.

The Khan Academy is a series of video instruction programs in many subjects in all offering over 2000 classes which students may view at their own pace.

Knowmia is a site where students, teachers and parents can create a profile and where teachers can create lessons for their students and students can watch the lessons on-line.

TED is one of the most well know lecture series on-line for high level information on many subjects. While not comparable to classroom material is certainly informative about many subjects being researched.

Open Culture provides on-line courses from various universities which can be downloaded to your computer.

Code Spells is a game program that helps students to learn on their own how to program using Java by getting them to use code to develop aspects of a game that they are playing at the same time. Codespells is a downloadable application.

2000 Free Courses with Lectures from MIT covering many subject areas.

Free Ed provides many course including Business Management courses among many other subjects. Bear in mind that some courses may be country specific.

World Scholar is an International, non-profit foundation that aims to provide a platform for students of all ages, from grade-school through Univeristy, to showcase their academic abilities on a professional level.
