Their two central goals are the alleviation of poverty as well as the advancement of education. To further these, BASED-UK funds projects identified through a process of grass-roots consultation. BASED-UK believes that the true measure of development goes beyond one's material and physical well-being. BASED-UK is an agency of the Baha'i International Community, which has consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and over a thousand social and economic development projects worldwide. more

Some of these include involvement in the Badi School in Panama, EMPIRE Project in Washington, as well as the Tierra Santa Home for Abandoned Children in Honduras.
