Dear Friends,
Sadly, I was so busy last month and in such a rush to get our 2011 newsletter out that I forgot to mention some of the very excellent work that was going on in Ghana in 2011.
Our dear Partners, Greg and Fabienne spent time with the Widows and did a tremendous job of helping them with many of their goals, I'm hoping that they will post some of their pictures and links to their videos on the web-site.
Gifty and Wayne visited them to ensure that things were moving forward for them, and you can read for yourself, the wonderful letter sent to us by the Chief of the Takpo village on behalf of the widows, whose number has gone from 52 to over 100 now as the word is getting out about their Widows Association.
In addition, many Partners (I don't even know who in some cases) donated things to them like books, which they gave to the local school, and clothing and some very dear Partners donated enough money so they could buy some goats for breeding so that each of the widows could have one eventually.
Click here to link to their letter (PDF) (or you can download this transcribed version in case you have a hard time reading it although the chief's handwriting is good). And visit their Project on our Web-site
http://www.partnersforprosperity.org/index.php/ghana-widows-and-womens-support-group (if you want to follow the group messages, you can login and join the group).
You can understand the gratitude that they and we feel to all of you who participated. And the Chief's mail address is there by the way, if anyone wants to write to the widows directly (sorry, no e-mail in Takpo yet).
The generousity of so many Partners who provided so much support and yet the one regret they expressed is that they are always on the receiving end, not realizing that it is a circle of Partnership, that what they give to others in their own area, to their children, to their families, will eventually make this world a better place for all of us.
Thanks to all of you who contributed your resources to help make their lives a little better. Best that you read the gratitude in their letter on your own.
