I encourage our Partners to read the following article about Canadian Aid and how it is delivered. Over a period of time, we will learn together about what makes Development work? We hope to answer questions like:
1) What is development from a community, village or neighborhood perspective? 2) What is capacity building and how does it work? 3) What increases a Partner's ability to impact their community?
Some of you are already experts on these topics and I encourage you to share your knowledge by creating topics in the discussion forum.
This will be one of many newletter articles on this topic and we hope to get your feedback, especially from our Partners in the global south including Tanzania, Namibia, Swaziland, Namibia, Ghana, Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Brazil, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Honduras, Czech Republic, Australia and locally from our many Partners in Canada and the US. We hope that all our Partners will share in this initiative and identify where their experience is from.
Concepts of Aid Effectiveness We will start with some background information looking first at concepts of Aid Effectiveness from a Canadian perspective.
This article is from speaking Notes for the Honourable Beverley J. Oda Minister Of International Cooperation at the Munk Centre for International Studies
Read Minister Oda's speaking Notes Here.
