Our Inspiration

"It is no longer possible to maintain the belief that the approach to social and economic development to which the materialistic conception of life has given rise, is capable of meeting humanity"s needs... Unless the development of society finds a purpose beyond the mere amelioration of material conditions, it will fail of attaining even these goals. That purpose must be sought in spiritual dimensions of life." -The Prosperity of Humankind, Baha"i International Community |

In both October of 2005 and in July 2006, a number of Cowichan Valley community individuals and organizations have collectively arranged sessions to deliver the training in community development and empowerment that the Badi Foundation has been successfully offering in China for the last ten years. This opportunity has been made possible by the collective efforts of a number of local groups working together and through the visits to our Valley by Alex Christian, a Canadian, who has been serving in China for over fifteen years.

The Lights are ON at the Joan Anderson Memorial Dispensary!!!
|
| It is like a miracle to have electric lights in the dispensary for the first time two days ago, so they can clearly see while treating patients during the hours of darkness.
The whole mountain is talking with excitement about this new development that really does bring improvements to the peoples lives.
