Our Inspiration |
"It is no longer possible to maintain the belief that the approach to social and economic development to which the materialistic conception of life has given rise, is capable of meeting humanity"s needs... Unless the development of society finds a purpose beyond the mere amelioration of material conditions, it will fail of attaining even these goals. That purpose must be sought in spiritual dimensions of life." -The Prosperity of Humankind, Baha"i International Community |

Shea Butter Market Christmas Fundraiser Update |
Just to give you an update on the Christmas Fundraiser for the children of Tapko, we raised just over $600.00 ! Thank you to all who purchased shea butter products or who donated directly through our partner, Partners for Prosperity. We used the funds to purchase school supplies in Canada and with the support we received from the Staples store in Duncan, some additional donations by Gifty and her husband Wayne, and hitting some lucky sales, we were able to purchase well over $2,000 worth of school supplies.more

Haiti Update |
Haiti is on everyone's mind, in their hearts and prayers these last days-it hardly seems possible that barely two weeks have gone by since the devastating earthquake shook this small nation, destroying lives, homes, roads, and damaging even more. Given that Partners has been working for quite some time in Haiti, we thought we'd like to share with you what we've been doing, what we are doing right now ("on the ground," so to speak, even though that ground has been shaken so severely) and what we hope to do in the future.more

Global Connections |
A partnership project connecting a community of people in Canada with female farmers in Takpo Village, Northern Ghana.
Cowichan Valley, Bowen Island and Vancouver, Canada...
... to Takpo Village, in Nadowli District NW Ghana.
Each Canadian partners with one widow in the village and supports her to develop sustained economic income to support herself and her family. This year's effort has focused on planting moringa seedlings. An ideal crop for the area, the Moringa grows well in poor soil and needs very little water. The edible leaves of the Moringa contain more protein than either beef or soy, and its abundant gifts don’t stop there. It can be a source ingredient for bio fuel and livestock feed, and it even has the ability to purify water. They would then save the seeds from the plants this year and grow each over a hundred trees next year. By next year we hope they could have another crop they could sell at the regional markets as well as food to supplement their diet. more
